“Wilderness” $1500
Inspiration for “Wilderness” was time spent in the Heritage River area of Gippsland, riding
along the Arte River where nature has created a small pocket of rainforest.To depict the dewy
freshness of unfolding fronds and new rainforest growth Jill has used beads both iridescent
and pearly with the occasional accent of sequins .Emmbedding the beads in lustred fabrics and
entwining them in yarns Jill captures some of the rich vinelike tapestry of the forest.She
has collaged all this with photographs to create a sense of realism. “Wilderness” has been
designed as a tryptich to provide a practical mirror use as well as allowing Jill space for
her creative collage.
Comprised of three pieces the centre one tells the story of the rainforest
and this flows to the outer two which provide practical mirrors. Dimensions a.410mm by 840mm
