Robert Gatt & Freya Marriott

Fifteen years ago Robert and Freya established their Hot Glass Studio in Port Fairy which enabled
them to devote their energies to their Art. They became founding members of Whale Bone gallery
in 1996. “We love the immediacy of working with molten glass. Speed is essential and any
hesitation will disrupt the rhythm and the glass will freeze. It’s a very exciting medium.
We love to play with colour and constantly experiment with new ways to apply it to glass –
enamelling on blown shapes, incorporating shards or delicately constructing tiny flowers embedded
in beads."
